Follow the Money — Support

Support for both Follow the Money (the bill-tracking app) and Hexpansion. Need help, found a bug, or want to share feedback? You’re in the right place.

I’m a one-person operation, so please be patient — I aim to reply within a couple of days.

When you write in, including the following helps me help you faster:

• Which app you’re using — Follow the Money or Hexpansion
• What iPhone you’re using (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro)
• What version of iOS you’re on (Settings → General → About → Software Version)
• The app version you’re running (shown inside the app)
• A clear description of what you were doing and what went wrong
• A screenshot if anything looked weird

Hexpansion

Hexpansion is a real-world, location-based strategy game where you claim and defend territory on a map of hexagons.

• Location: Hexpansion uses your location to place you on the map and to enforce the attack-radius rule. You can manage this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
• Suggestions & feedback: Tap the feedback button on Hexpansion’s map screen to send a suggestion straight to me.
• Reporting and blocking players: Hexpansion has a global chat. If someone posts something objectionable, you can report the message or the player and block any user from within the chat. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior — I review reports and act on objectionable content, including removing it and ejecting the user, within 24 hours.
• Coins, seasons, and territory: In-game coins, buildings, and territory have no real-world value. The world resets every six months at the end of each season; your coins and cosmetics carry over.

Common questions

For Follow the Money, most “is this normal?” questions are answered in the FAQ tab inside the app (tap the question-mark icon). For Hexpansion, the in-app tutorial (Profile → Help → How to play) walks through the basics. If your question isn’t covered, drop me an email.

Feature requests

I’d genuinely love to hear what you wish the apps did. Email me with the subject line “Feature request”, or use the in-game feedback button, and I’ll add it to my list.

Reporting a bug

For bugs, please include the steps to reproduce so I can recreate it on my end. A screen recording (Settings → Control Center → Screen Recording on iOS) helps a lot.

Refunds

Both apps are free, so there’s nothing to refund. If you have a complaint about something Apple charged you for, that goes through the Apple App Store refund process.
